Choose where you want to go deeper.
Regional Concentrations provide a clear pathway for building depth in a particular part of the world through foundational study, advanced electives, language learning and a capstone.
New curriculum
If you declare GLAS from AY2027–28, a Regional Concentration forms part of your major requirements.
Year 1 in AY2026–27? Explore the Regional Concentrations now so that you can make informed course and language choices before declaring your major. Students admitted this year are expected to plan with the revised curriculum in mind.
Current curriculum
If you declared GLAS before AY2027–28, continue to follow your existing stream requirements.

Global Electives
Not every GLAS course is tied exclusively to one region. Global Electives address areas outside the initial RCs or use interdisciplinary and inter-regional perspectives to examine processes that cross boundaries.
Structured, but flexible
Two additional electives allow students to deepen their RC, continue language study or explore broader GLAS/SMLC offerings. Relevant courses outside the pre-designated lists may also be approved where appropriate.
